What are Triggered Elements? – Catapult AMS Support

A Trigger is something you can use with specific Elements if you don't want them to be enabled automatically, but you want them to turn on or set a value based on a response to a different element.

How do I create a Triggered element?

In order to have an Element triggered on, you must first create two Elements - the element that the trigger is based on, as well as the element that is impacted by the first Element's response. Follow the steps here for any questions on Element creation.
Click on the first element and navigate to the Element Settings menu. Ensure that this element is Enabled.
Click on the second element and navigate to the Element Settings menu. Ensure that this element is NOT Enabled.

Note: When you click on the Preview, the enabled element show show up, and the other element should not:
Click on the Form Settings tab and select Triggers and Logic.
To create the trigger, click the green "Add a Trigger" button and select the downward facing arrow next to where it says "Untitled Trigger."
Name your trigger by clicking on the text box, and add your conditions of the trigger into the boxes.

The Element that is enabled should be in the primary box - if the answer to Element A (the enabled Element) is option A, then a secondary action needs to happen. In the example above, we are enabling the secondary Element, which will ask the user to specify the medications or supplements he or she is taking. You can also Disable an element, or Set a Value.
If you'd like to add multiple options to the trigger (If Element A is Option 1 OR Option 2, enable Element 2), hover over the Trigger conditions and select the Green + button. Remove them with the Red X.
To test your trigger is functioning properly, click on the Preview button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and enter the options into the primary Element that is slotted to trigger the action of the Secondary Element.
